As we approach our revival services at Cairo First with Rev. Henry Mills on January 30 - February 2, I pray that we are each seeking a refreshing touch from the Holy Spirit. After all, we need spiritual renewal. Automobiles can't run without re-filling the gas tanks, electronic devices can't run without recharged batteries, and the human soul can't run for Christ without a renewal of the Holy Spirit's touch upon our lives.
Receiving a spiritual recharge is not a complicated matter. In fact, it's a simple as:
- Humbling ourselves before God,
- Being certain we're as close to Him as we can be,
- Asking Him to renew us spiritually,
- And trusting that He's willing and able to do so.
14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
The world in which we live is a trying one. Without a doubt, 2010 was a tough year for each of us. Now, we stand at the start of a brand new year, 2011, with all of its ups and downs, trials and triumphs, mysteries and opportunities ahead of us. Let's determine together to go into this year with a fresh anointing from God!
Father,
As we approach this special revival effort, I ask You to begin now to renew & re-invigorate me, so that I may do Your will and live a life that will please and point the way to You.
